Ek Do Teen

An English Comedy Adapted and Directed by Sohaila Kapur
(An adaptation of British writer Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit)

Ek Do Teen is a supernatural comedy about a university professor, whose late, first wife accidentally returns because of a séance held by a bumbling spiritualist. Now that she has returned, she stakes a claim on him, while the second wife, an earthy and wealthy Punjabi, will not give up without a good fight. Who succeeds in the end?  Ek Do Teen, a play with special lighting effects, is a laugh riot that takes a pot shot at the institution of marriage.

The play, performed as dinner theatre at the Marriott Welcome Hotel, New Delhi, in 2004, for a chapter of the Rotary Club, was a huge success. It was also performed as part of the Hungry Heart Festival of Comedies by Sohaila Kapur at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre.

Sunit Tandon, Mukul Rastogi, Sohaila Kapur, Smita Bharti and Aanchal Bharti.
